Student Led Toolkits 2021!

 Student Led Toolkits 2021!

Salaam Bloggers, Today I will tell you about Toolkits 2021! On Thursday 20th May we went to Owairaka school. Some came to present some came to view. There were 3 different toolkits we had to go to. If you were presenting you could only go to 2 toolkits because you need to present one of them. Everyone had to have 2 or 3 people in their team's. I had a buddy who's name was Nora here is her blog link https://wpsnorat.blogspot.com/ I didn't get to present but I did get to look at 3 different toolkits. The 1st one was Book Creator. 2nd was learning how to make books with google slides. The 3rd one was Coding with Minecraft.

In Book Creator you can make comics and stories. You can choose how many pages you want. You can change the background and you can do much more on it. I chose to do a comic I did a comic about a unicorn. I added a couple of characters too. While I was at home I made another one too. This website is very fun if you want to be creative and be an author when you grow up.

When we learned how to make a book using google slides. I thought it would be boring but it wasn't. I added photo's in my book and you can also add animations and pictures from other websites. You can use the text box to write your story and you can keep adding more slides to make a complete book.

Coding with Minecraft keeps you busy and makes you smarter. You just have to go on the website and choose a game out of the 3.  All 3 of them are quite similar because it is all about coding. Me and Nora both did the same things so we coded together. If we needed help we could ask each other.

The toolkit presentations were finished but there were people from Fusion to talk to us about Cyber Safety. Also if you want to be a Technician like them. After they left we all had to go back to school and do our schoolwork.

Year 6 Spark Arena Trip!🚌🚌

 Year 6 Spark Arena Trip!🚌🚌

Salaam bloggers, Today I will write about the Year 6 Spark Arena trip! All the year 6 had arrived from the bus to Spark Arena! It was so huge and it looked like a fine built building. We waited for the teachers to settle us down. The first place we had to go to had lots of instruments and it had a stage. Everyone sat down and we met Suzy Cato. She told us about all three activities nice and clear. She also introduced us to the CEO of Spark Arena and the person who organised all of the fun his name was Brendan Hines. There was a place called Happy Place, Van Gogh, and Sounds Fun.

There were also 2 other schools that came. Their names were Royal Road and Lincoln Heights. Our school had the opportunity to go to the Happy Place first and Royal Road and Lincoln Heights had to go to Sounds Fun first. After a while of introducing we all went of to our stations.

We went upstairs and entered the gates of Happy Place! It was a giant cookie door. Inside there were XO Letters with pictures of lips. Next to it was a slide. Then when you enter through the next room there is a very deep colourful ball pit! Everyone had a go at it. They jumped in or did a flip. After you had had your turn you could go to other rooms with different places to take pictures. There was an upside down room, a room that says HAPPY in it. There was a room with a unicorn, a room with a giant cookie with chocolate chips you could put your face through. There was also a room that has 3 different things in it, like white coloured chains. There was also a side of the room disco themed and a room with rubber duckies and a bath tub. We had finished taking pictures so we went through the other door and saw marry gold flowers everywhere. The room next to it had a giant transparent case with confetti in it that was flying with air. We could go inside and lay with it.

It was time for us to go to Sounds Fun. Sounds Fun was in the same room we had to go to when we first arrived. We got into 3 groups and did three activities. 1 was where you play instruments with headphones on to learn them. In the 2nd activity were they showed you how to use a Trombone. The 3rd activity was a loop machine were we got to record our voice and edit it. I got to do the Trombone first. We had to blow a raspberry through a small funnel type thing. It then would make a noise. Next we had to put the funnel into the Trombone and blow a raspberry and VIOLA! It would sound like a Trombone. I got to do the Loop Machine next and the instrument learning area last.

All of us went into the Van Gogh art centre. There was large screens with amazing art on it. There was also messages the artist had wrote. Everyone enjoyed it. We went outside and they gave us lunch packs. It had a sandwich, apple, juice and chips in it. Everyone enjoyed coming to Spark Arena. We all wish we can come again and enjoy the fun.
