 Slip & Slide!!

Asalamualikum bloggers today I am going to tell you about the slip and slide we went down. We got split into two groups. My group first went to the slip and slide. The other group went to the pool. First we had to go down the slip and slide by ourselves next we could go with a buddy. The teachers took some funny photos. The whole school got to do the slip and slide. The people who didn't  have their togs they helped with the slip and slide. Next my group went to the swimming pool. It was so much fun. We got to have the pool noodles out and the other equipment.

Mindfulness😌

Salaam bloggers, today I am going to tell you about our last mindfulness session. We only had 4 sessions in total this term and our mindfulness teacher was very happy. We learnt how to make a waka then we got to do it with a buddy. Everyone's waka looked cool it was very hard to balance. We also played a game called the hoop game where we all hold hands and then we have to pass the hoop around the circle without letting go. I think we do mindfulness so we can learn how to calm ourselves down when we get angry, sad, scared, stressed and more. I can't wait to do more mindfulness next year.

Bike Skills🚴

 Bike Skills🚴

Salaam bloggers. Today I am going to tell you about bike skills. We had  2 coaches named John and Ella the other classes had Holly and Shelly. We had to wear raincoats because on the day we were biking it was raining. We played a game where we had to make a box and we had to ride our bike in it if we touched the ground with our feet we were out. They teached us what to wear when we were riding a bike. We had to wear a vest that has straps that can shine when a light come on them.

They also teached us how to signal with our hands when we are riding a bike. we were having so much fun learning bike skills. We could also change gears on our bike. We did biking so we can learn how to ride one and have lots of fun!. Also at the start they teached us how to put a helmet on.

Have you ever skateboarded before? If you haven't make sure to read this Blog post. Today we did skateboarding our coaches names were Ben and Lawrence. They taught us some skills example crab walk, front side back side, Tik-Tax Tick- Tacks, and the snake. I found it challenging during skateboarding when we were doing the snake. I gained confidence. We split up into 2 groups a with Ben or with Lawrence. I was in the team which Ben was in. 

The thing that was great in skateboarding that everybody in the seniors had two sessions each in one day. I learned about different skills and how to do something on a skateboard that I haven't learnt before. After these lessons I thought to tell my parents to buy me a skateboard for my birthday. I am also exited to have more skateboard lessons. Maybe next time I will try to practice the skills when we have free time in skateboarding lessons.

Asalaamalaikum everyone, Welcome to my blog. Our school production was called Jasmine and Aladdin. We spent 13 weeks doing rehearsals. Then finally on Monday the year 5/6's walked down to the intermediate to do rehearsals with the props. We did the same on Tuesday but with the school to. Then on Wednesday we had our first show when Waikowhai Intermediate and Hay Park Primary School came. 

Hay Park and Waikowhai Intermediate came so they could be our audience and be jealous of how good we were. Also on Wednesday we had a dress rehearsal where we had to put our costumes on and do the practice with the school. We had to come to Waikowhai Intermediate at 6pm. 6pm the year 5/6 had to come in so that they cold change first. At 6:15pm the Middles and Juniors could come to change in their costumes too. 

Our first show was amazing. All the teachers were very proud especially Miss Daly. We do productions to have fun and also we do them so that when we get older we can act and we know what we are afraid of and what we are not. It is also that we get on stage and do acting in front of a proper audience.

Wonder Project Rockets🚀

                 Wonder Project Rockets🚀

Aslaamalaikum everyone. Today I am going to tell you about the Wonder Project and when we did our final flights. Before we launched our rockets we had to add some more detail. We added magnets, a nose cone, and some string around the nose cone. Our group is called D.A.J.A Crew.

The members are called; 

• Dev - the Chief Scientist, he had to wear a yellow vest
• Ayana {Me} - the Team Captain I didn't wear a vest
• Jacob - the Chief Engineer, he wore a blue vest. 
• Amara - the safety officer, who wore pink. 

In our rocket we put 250ml of water but the rocket didn't quite go as planned. 

Our rocket went 16.6 metres far. If we have the opportunity to do the Wonder Project again me and my group would change the magnets that gave the rocket more weight. We were proud of ourselves that the rocket actually did blast off instead of just crashing when it got off the launchpad.

Film Festival Winners 2020🎥

Salaam everyone today I am going to tell you about Film Festival winners. On Wednesday 14th of October the Film Festival winners all went to the cinema. We all started by registering our names then we got some choc tops and popcorn. On the way we got a paper that tells the movie names. My parents and I found Aamena and Amara{Film Festival Crew} saving seats for us in the theatre. We all sat down in a line 5 rows above us we saw our teachers.  we tried to wave but they couldn't see us. It was fun we enjoyed the other films to. We saw lots of other people from our school in the theatre. Here are the names of the people in our film Amara Aamena Paityn Shreyas Izumi and me {Ayana}.

Film Festival 2020

Salaam everyone today I am going to blog about film Festival. In term 2 we got to decide if we want to be in film festival or not the people who chose to be in film festival had to find groups of 5 or 6 people. First we had to make a storyboard then we made our script. The theme of this years film festival was Kindness. Our teacher chooses two or more movies that were the best and those movies will be shone at ST LUKES mall cinema on Wednesday October the 14th. We used I pads to film our 3 minute and costumes and props to wear we can also use colours to draw stuff on you. People can use a green screen.

Te Waka Ako Can Cook

Salaam everyone today I am going to blog about the Te Waka Ako Can Cook recipe book. In lockdown our teacher created a recipe book for us to put recipes in, most of us managed to put theirs in some didn't. It was fun how we each got our own slide and we could decorate it and add a recipe. We can also do another slide if we want if not than we can look at some other peoples and try theirs.
