Matariki

On Thursday 23rd July our school celebrated Matariki and did fun activities some people called their parents or grandparents to join them. On Matariki there are 7 stars that appear in the sky that mark the maori new year.  One of the activities was stop motion for stop motion we had to plan what story of Matariki we are going to retell the we have to get paper or playdough to shape or cut out things and people. Then we had to take our chromebooks take a video of it and add a screencastify on it. Some people finished there's some didn't. Activity was making fry bread we made fry bread we had groups in my group there were Arielle, Miriama, Faith, TJ and Yousuf. First we took the dough and rolled it out then we cut it out in pieces and fried it in oil. We had options to put on nutella raspberry jam and maple syrup. We also made kites we used paper to make maori patterns then we colored it and dyed it. We put it on the kites and hung them on the walls of our classroom.

Cross Country

Cross Country 2020

On Thursday 2nd July 2020 we had cross country. We did lots of fun activities like handball, Tennis, Blindfold course, warming up for our run and the most important doing our run. My favourite game was the blindfold course we had to find a buddy and one of them had to wear a blindfold the other had to guide them with their voice they had to pick up at least 2 bean bags without touching the hoola hoops after you have 2 you swap the blindfold with your buddy.

Chicken Sunday

Assalamualaikum everyone! Today I am going to be sharing my response of the book Chicken Sunday. On Wednesday we had to do a response on the book Chicken Sunday. We had to write about what we were surprised about, what we liked about it, what we didn't like about it, what we would change, what it made us think about and what we didn't understand. Reading Choice Boards

During lockdown and after lockdown we have been using reading choice boards for reading. I had fun using the choice boards because we didn't have to do what the teachers told us to do. In lockdown we had a choice board that looks like this
