New Zealand At The 2020 Olympics!

New Zealand At The 2020 Olympics!

Salaam Bloggers. Today I will tell you about our Olympic DLO {Digital Learning Object}. We had to make our DLO on one of these websites. Book Creator, Google Slides and Google Drawing I chose Book Creator. We had to create a DLO on one of these focused question's:

1. What makes up the important features of the Summer Olympic Games?

2. How have the Olympic Games changed from the Ancient Games to the Modern Games to the Present Day Games?

3. "What is happening for

NZ at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021?"

I chose Number 3! We were learning to summaries and retell the main ideas and important information from what I have read in my own words.

We had to follow this SC : Find important information about my topic.

Find information from a range of sources including one I have found by myself

Write information in my own words in my DLO

Include a clear heading and subheadings in my DLO

My layout is clear and easy to read

I have included relevant pictures to add interest to my presentation

My information and ideas help my audience to understand the learning

My Favorite part was when I got to gather all the information the images onto Book Creator than decorating it and, finally finishing it!

Here are the pictures of each page of my DLO Book!

Gardening at Molley GreenπŸ₯¬πŸŒ±πŸ†πŸŒ½

 Gardening at Molley GreenπŸ₯¬πŸŒ±πŸ†πŸŒ½

Kia Orana bloggers. Today I am going to be blogging about me and the Environmental Group going to Molley Green. We went to Molley Green to help build a Community Fruit Forest. We had to take a wheel burrow and put our lunches in it. One of us had to carry it all the way to Molley Green! When we got there we had to run to the shed and get some spades and gardening forks. We had to run back to the end of Molley Green where the Council had put all the Mulch {branches and leaves chopped into bark}. Everyone some of us had to get an empty wheel burrow and the people that had the spades and forks had to dig the moult and put it in the wheel burrow. Once the wheel burrow would be full they had to run back to where the shed and the garden would be and the had to dump the mulch onto a sheet. The people who didn't have a job had to run to the garden and take a bucket from the shed. They had to put the mulch in to the bucket and spread it around the plants.

After we finished all that we had to go back to school and finish off our work!

Here are some pictures and 1 video of the day!

Thank you for reading my blog I hope you enjoyed bye!!

Olympic Studies This Week!

 Olympic Studies This Week!

Salaam bloggers, today I will be telling you about what we have done this week. This week we all had started a Olympian profile. We had to find an Olympian and gather their information and use it to create a Google Slide or Book Creator. I did a book about Yuzuru Hanyu he is an Ice Skater from Japan. The information we had to gather was how many medals they won, what their birth date is, when they started and more. if you want to see my book about him here is the link under the picture.

Here is the LINK

I also did an Olympic Sport Logo where you have to look at game logo's that are in the Olympic Games then we need to write down what game it is for example:

= Canoe Slalom

We had a bunch more logo's to do from that slide show. Here is the link under the picture.

Here is the LINK

After we finished that slideshow we had to work on a slideshow that is a Part 2 of the Olympic Sport Logo slideshow. it's called Olympic Sport Study. Once you finished the Sport Logo slide you work on the Sport Study. You have to choose one of the Olympic Sport and find information about that sport. I chose Archery and the link is under the picture.
Here is the LINK

Thank you for reading my blog I hope you enjoyed it. Blog you later! Bye!!!!!

Procedural Text

 Procedural Text

As-salamu alaykum bloggers, today I am going to be telling you about our procedural text. We had to choose a game we could write about. We had to put it in order of the title, introduction, goal, equipment, some steps and a diagram. First we had to make a copy of the plan. If you filled in the plan you need to create your real procedure in a new doc. Here is a picture of my plan.
I did a cultural game called Pani Pani. It is a Fijian game. With the procedure you can teach lots and lots of people about games and unique ways of playing them. I learnt that you need to start your steps with a verb and you need to make the instructions exact. We followed some instructions to see how they worked out. Some of them went really wrong. I have completed my real procedure if you want to read it here is a picture of it.

I hope you enjoyed reading my blog and I hope you learnt something to!

Toolkits At Our School!πŸ«πŸ’»

 Toolkits At Our School!πŸ«πŸ’»

Assalamu Alaikum Bloggers, Today I will blog about when we did toolkits at our school! We had a day where we got to explore 3 different Tookits. I was a presenter and I presented Book Creator with Nora = https://wpsnorat.blogspot.com/  There were 24 presenters that worked in pairs to create a toolkit. So there were 12 toolkits on the day. Book Creator, Drones, Google Maps, Webcam Toy, Incredibox, MakeyMakey, Slide animation, Brainbox, Piskel, Music Lab, Spheros and Word Art. Our teachers had planed to do a school Toolkit because it was STEM {Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths } Week. The Seniors and middles filled in a google form to choose which toolkit they want to go in. If you were a presenter you could only fill in 1 box because, you had to present the other 2.

The 1st toolkit I didn't present I went to one. The toolkit I went to was Drones that was in the hall. We started by getting into groups of 4. then one of us had to open our Chromebook an get the website to control the drone. The presenters showed us a slideshow of how to use them. Once they were done they showed us how to fly it and we finally got to fly it too. Each person from a group got a turn to fly it. When it was the next groups turn all the drones had gotten there battery wasted and they couldn't fly anymore. Lucky the Spheros presenters were next door on the other side of the hall. They had let us borrow a few Spheros so we could have a go. We had lots and lots of fun. The bell had rung it's time for morning tea. After Morning tea it was the next toolkit.

On the second toolkit Nora and I presented in the hall 14 people had come! We had casted our slideshow on the screen and we called the role everyone was here. We had started of our slideshow by introducing our self then we had read the slideshow to them. After that we had let them have sandpit time where they got to use Book Creator. They had all created amazing comics. And some people were even brave enough to present there own Book/Comic.

The 3rd toolkit was pretty much the same as the first one but the 3rd one only had girls in it. I really enjoy doing toolkits and seeing others enjoy too I hope we can do Toolkits again next term and  the tern after that. I hope you enjoyed reading my blog see you later!!!!πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹

Student Led Toolkits 2021!

 Student Led Toolkits 2021!

Salaam Bloggers, Today I will tell you about Toolkits 2021! On Thursday 20th May we went to Owairaka school. Some came to present some came to view. There were 3 different toolkits we had to go to. If you were presenting you could only go to 2 toolkits because you need to present one of them. Everyone had to have 2 or 3 people in their team's. I had a buddy who's name was Nora here is her blog link https://wpsnorat.blogspot.com/ I didn't get to present but I did get to look at 3 different toolkits. The 1st one was Book Creator. 2nd was learning how to make books with google slides. The 3rd one was Coding with Minecraft.

In Book Creator you can make comics and stories. You can choose how many pages you want. You can change the background and you can do much more on it. I chose to do a comic I did a comic about a unicorn. I added a couple of characters too. While I was at home I made another one too. This website is very fun if you want to be creative and be an author when you grow up.

When we learned how to make a book using google slides. I thought it would be boring but it wasn't. I added photo's in my book and you can also add animations and pictures from other websites. You can use the text box to write your story and you can keep adding more slides to make a complete book.

Coding with Minecraft keeps you busy and makes you smarter. You just have to go on the website and choose a game out of the 3.  All 3 of them are quite similar because it is all about coding. Me and Nora both did the same things so we coded together. If we needed help we could ask each other.

The toolkit presentations were finished but there were people from Fusion to talk to us about Cyber Safety. Also if you want to be a Technician like them. After they left we all had to go back to school and do our schoolwork.

Year 6 Spark Arena Trip!🚌🚌

 Year 6 Spark Arena Trip!🚌🚌

Salaam bloggers, Today I will write about the Year 6 Spark Arena trip! All the year 6 had arrived from the bus to Spark Arena! It was so huge and it looked like a fine built building. We waited for the teachers to settle us down. The first place we had to go to had lots of instruments and it had a stage. Everyone sat down and we met Suzy Cato. She told us about all three activities nice and clear. She also introduced us to the CEO of Spark Arena and the person who organised all of the fun his name was Brendan Hines. There was a place called Happy Place, Van Gogh, and Sounds Fun.

There were also 2 other schools that came. Their names were Royal Road and Lincoln Heights. Our school had the opportunity to go to the Happy Place first and Royal Road and Lincoln Heights had to go to Sounds Fun first. After a while of introducing we all went of to our stations.

We went upstairs and entered the gates of Happy Place! It was a giant cookie door. Inside there were XO Letters with pictures of lips. Next to it was a slide. Then when you enter through the next room there is a very deep colourful ball pit! Everyone had a go at it. They jumped in or did a flip. After you had had your turn you could go to other rooms with different places to take pictures. There was an upside down room, a room that says HAPPY in it. There was a room with a unicorn, a room with a giant cookie with chocolate chips you could put your face through. There was also a room that has 3 different things in it, like white coloured chains. There was also a side of the room disco themed and a room with rubber duckies and a bath tub. We had finished taking pictures so we went through the other door and saw marry gold flowers everywhere. The room next to it had a giant transparent case with confetti in it that was flying with air. We could go inside and lay with it.

It was time for us to go to Sounds Fun. Sounds Fun was in the same room we had to go to when we first arrived. We got into 3 groups and did three activities. 1 was where you play instruments with headphones on to learn them. In the 2nd activity were they showed you how to use a Trombone. The 3rd activity was a loop machine were we got to record our voice and edit it. I got to do the Trombone first. We had to blow a raspberry through a small funnel type thing. It then would make a noise. Next we had to put the funnel into the Trombone and blow a raspberry and VIOLA! It would sound like a Trombone. I got to do the Loop Machine next and the instrument learning area last.

All of us went into the Van Gogh art centre. There was large screens with amazing art on it. There was also messages the artist had wrote. Everyone enjoyed it. We went outside and they gave us lunch packs. It had a sandwich, apple, juice and chips in it. Everyone enjoyed coming to Spark Arena. We all wish we can come again and enjoy the fun.
