Life living in Trenches❗

Life living in Trenches❗

Salaam Bloggers. On Wednesday 14th April we had to live in the Trenches for ANZAC Day! Our teachers had got lots and lots of strings and tide the around the place. They tide them low so they could look like you were in the bottom of trenches. If we put our heads, arms, legs or stand up we would get shot by a NERF Gun!

First we had to get our Art book stationary and enter the Trenches! Then we did a basic facts test while there was noise of gunfire.

After that we did ANZAC Maths. We all got question sheets and answer sheets. The sheets included how many people went to War. How many people weren't able to survive. The years the Wars were and a fact.

We did some exercises in the Trenches!

We then rote a letter to our parents pretending we were in a real Trench.  Here is my letter.

Dear family, I am having a very hard time in these trenches. It is like living in the most horrible dungeon! It is not like at home here. It does not have any fresh food here. We can’t even take showers or wash ourselves. The rats here would be as big as cats!. The food here would be raw and hard. Everyday we would have to eat, sleep, and fight in the same place. Lots of people would get injured and lots would die. It is also very scary when there would be gunshots and bombs. People would be screaming for help from others. There would be no beds and it would be freezing at night. Dear family I hope you are in great health. Please hope I will be too. Goodbye from Ayana Rizwan.

We also had to write a Poem here is my Poem

Insane amounts of people dying.

Nothing to eat but hard biscuits.

Joining his partner so none could fall hurt but...

Urgent trips to the hospital here we go again.

Rat’s stealing our things while we are not around.

Yawning people waking up early “ I don’t wanna wake up” they say.

It was time for morning tea. It was too wet so we played in the hall. After that our Ms Sands one of our teacher had split us in 2 groups. My group went swimming first the other did Art. The pool was freezing when we got in. It also started raining. We all had some swimming but I was too cold. Right when me and my friend Amara got out it started hailing! The ice fell on my and it almost broke my little finger.

We had ran into the classroom and crawled back under the strings. Miss Daly told us what to do. We had to get our art book and draw lines. We were doing picto draw! Ms Sands was reading a book about Gallipoli. We had to hear what she was saying and draw it on our books.

Finally it finished the day was over but....... There was still more to go! We had to find a buddy and one of us had to put it on. Then we had to find a piece of string. Our buddy had to guide us and we had to keep tying the string to an ice block stick.

Then that was the end of the day. Everyone had so much fun I hope we do this again. What would you do for ANZAC Day?

There was a lot of bikes and scooters to play with.  You could bring any kind of wheels like, Cars, Wheelies,  Roller blades and more.

My favourite activity was when we got to do the Bouncy Castle Obstacle Course. It was fun because there was tyres you had to go through a wall a tunnel and a GIANT slide.  I really enjoy Family Fun Day and I wish we had every Term!

My Self Portrait!

 My Self Portrait!

Salaam Everyone, Today I will tell you about our self portraits! In the first Term of school we always do a different type of self portrait. Last year we did a portrait of the past century's. This year we did Picasso Art!!! It's really fun first we had to watch a video and copy what they are doing. We could style it however we want. The person who created Picasso Art is Pablo Picasso. Pablo Picasso paints people however he wants. If someone turns to the left he paints them to the left. If someone turns to the right he paints them on the right. He paints anything. Even animals. He is also one of the most popular painters. A lot of people do Picasso art now. Most of the people in our class room is finished. Here is a video of the Picasso Art. And a picture of my Picasso Art.

Lockdown 4!

 Lockdown 4!

In lockdown we got to take our Chromebooks home so we could learn. We also had to do online class meetings every morning except the weekend.  My favourite school activity was the Kahoots. I liked the Kahoots because there was lots of different quizzes to get correct. Whoever comes in the leader board ( 1st 2nd 3rd ) gets House Points! House Points are points we get in our houses there is PUKEKEO  KEA TUI and the best house RURU. There are different colours too. My favourite family activity was when we got to make homemade ice creams. It was so fun they even tasted like the ones you buy from the store. We also dipped them in chocolate to make them better.

When it was Lockdown I thought it wasn't gonna end till next month but, when it was Sunday I finally found out it's level 2! I got so excited about going back to school.  I feel happy because lockdown might end and it’s the weekend. I am also excited because if lockdown ends we will be able to celebrate my moms and brother’s birthday. I am also excited because Ramadan is coming up in 38 days and after it will be Eid. It is also exciting that we can finally go to my friends houses, but I am bored because we can’t go to Pakistan to visit our cousins. And now I am finally back at school! It is about time I get to be at school. I can now see all my friends and teachers. I also need to wait till level 1 so we can go swimming.

Swimming In 2021!🏊

Swimming In 2021!🏊

Asalamualikum everyone, On Friday the 26th of February me and my class went swimming. First we had to fall from the edge of the pool by lying down. We had to lie on the edge of the pool and fall in. It was really fun then we had to make a whirl pool and float on our backs. We also had to dolphin dive to the other side of the pool. Then we had to float on our backs all the way back. We also had to go all the way under the water and kick to the other side. We have to learn how to swim because we are in New Zealand, New Zealand is surrounded with water and encase there is a tide we need to survive by swimming.
Here are some pictures of the day.

Mindfulness😌

 Mindfulness😌

Salaam bloggers, today I am going to tell you about our last mindfulness session. We only had 4 sessions in total this term and our mindfulness teacher was very happy. We learnt how to make a waka then we got to do it with a buddy. Everyone's waka looked cool it was very hard to balance. We also played a game called the hoop game where we all hold hands and then we have to pass the hoop around the circle without letting go. I think we do mindfulness so we can learn how to calm ourselves down when we get angry, sad, scared, stressed and more. I can't wait to do more mindfulness next year.
